The O’Neill Country Historical Society’s next talk is on, The importance of the Donnelly Sept within the O’Neill’s of Tyrone (Ó Néill Mór) and the extended family grouping termed the, Ceneal Eoghain (Cenéil nEógain)

In their role as Marshalls to the O’Neills, the Donnelley’s were responsible for fostering the children of ‘The O’Neill’. The Donnelly’s territory was first in County Donegal, but later moved eastward into County Tyrone, where the centre of their power was at Ballydonnelly, now modern day Castlecaulfield.

We would like to invite you to attend the Benburb Priory Library on Wednesday 28 June 2023 at 8.00 pm, to hear local historian, Mr Jonathan Gray, deliver a talk on the importance of this great family within Irish society. Jonathan is a native of Belfast, now living in Castlecaulfield and is a prominent member of Killeeshill and Clonaneese Historical Society.

Tea & coffee will be served and all are welcome
