Who Was Florence McMoyer? The Doctor and The Rebel! – 8th October at 8pm in Caledon Courthouse

The society continues its’ 2013 Autumn lecture Series with a double lecture on two very interesting and diverse topics:

‘Who Was Florence McMoyer?? And what had he to do with Lord Lurgan 333 years ago? What had the Minister of Tynan Parish 173 years later to do with the discovery of an ancient Irish manuscript containing the earliest copy of the New Testament dating from 807AD?  Rev John Batchelor, Vice President of The O’Neill Country Historical Society will reveal the facts and seek the verdict of the audience on his research  and findings

‘The Doctor And The Rebel’  Two brothers from the Benburb/Armagh area – One became a famous doctor, the other an infamous rebel in the 1798 United Irishmen  Rebellion. Mr Wolsely  Knox  narrates  their story. YOU MAY WELL KNOW THEIR DESCENDENTS?
